Apple Bread…mmmm….

Hope you aren’t yet sick of seeing apple recipes. Because I’m sure not yet sick of making them! If you are, then I hope these pictures will butter you up a bit so that you can enjoy the soft, sweet bread that this this recipe will give you. I know my family can’t get enough of it. I left my apples chunky so I can really taste the apple. Mmmm….

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups apples – peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
1 cup broken walnuts

Directions

Stir together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and salt and then set aside.

Add oil, eggs, sugar, applesauce, vanilla and apples into mixing bowl.

Add to flour mixture and stir. Add walnuts and stir some more! (Warning: Batter will be thick!)

Divide mixture into two greased 8-in. x 4-in. bread pans or four mini loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees  for 40-45 minutes if larger loaves or 35-40 minutes if mini-loaf  or until toothpick inserted in middle come out clean.

Cool for 10 minutes on wire rack before removing from pan. If using silicone they should just pop out. Mine were a breeze!

Enjoy your bread with some coffee and apple butter or regular butter lathered on top. Yummy!

This recipe can be found at allrecipes.com. It was slightly altered to reduce the fat content.

This looks delicious. I still have plenty of apples left from apple picking. So, I will let you know how my Apple Bread turns out when I make it this afternoon!

Yum, except for me I’d have to leave out the Walnuts since I’m allergic to them. You know what’s weird, I’m allergic to Walnuts, but not Pecans. I don’t like the taste of Pecans, but I do
like the taste of Walnuts. Yet, I won’t eat Walnuts anymore since I found out I’m allergic.

Looks VERY yummy! I’ll have to try this with all the apples in our backyard that are now ripe. 🙂

I wonder what it would taste like with Chocolate added in some way? Say like, Chocolate Chips?

    Hmmm…

    Thanks! 🙂
