Wordless Wednesday – Decadent Cupcakes at Post 39 in Boston

I had the chance to attend a blogger event last week in Boston, MA for T.J. Maxx and Marshalls! The visit was a blast and I really enjoyed some wonderful food, including these scrumptious cupcakes during our cocktail party at Post 39.

While they all looked amazing, if you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time you probably know which one I went for…

The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, of course! Nothing gets between me and cream cheese anything! Mmm…they were so yummy!

    Oh my, those look so good! Question, do you prefer carrot cake with or without nuts? I know most people have only ever had one with nuts but being a nut allergy family I only do them without nuts and just having the cake melt in your mouth without even having to chew a nut is oh so heavenly.

      I am actually a fan of nuts but I like anything without them too. And I love pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting without nuts so I’m sure I’d like it that way too with carrot cake. I definitely prefer brownies without nuts. No extra crunch is needed with a soft and smooth brownie. Sigh…just imagining one right now.

      Now Cat on the other hand hates any nuts, including peanut butter so you’ll only find recipes including nuts from me. We round OMSH out. :)

        Ah not even peanut butter! See I love nuts just not in my foods and I still have a jar of peanut butter hiding in the back of my cabinets.
        Now I am wanting a pumpkin bar! I just saved the pumpkin bread recipe you shared the other day. I’m making that tomorrow!

          Oh, do come back and tell me what you think of the bread. It is so moist and goes super fast here.

          And yeah, not even peanut butter. Can’t even imagine not liking peanut butter. But I can’t say anything because I’m going to let you (and anyone else who cares to read this) in on a secret. (whispering) I’m not a fan of buttercream frosting. There I said it.

          And some people think I’m crazy. I can eat it but you’ll only get me to eat a sliver of cake with it on. Yet I still love sugary, rich foods, I just like to get my sugar high on with something else like cheesecake. I swear I could sit and eat a ton of cream cheese frosting though.

            If I weren’t so tired I would be making it right now LOL I have to go make my Dad one of is favorite sandwiches before he leaves for work and them I’m coming home and making it.

            GASP how can you not like butter cream frosting! That is my absolute favorite kind of frosting. Mmmmmm yum 😉

            Oh see I like cheesecake but can only eat a little bit before it makes me sick and depending on how rich the cream cheese frosting is I can eat a little or a lot. I would take cream cheese frosting over cheese cake any day though.

              Emilie I made the pumpkin bread and oh my was is melt in your mouth good! I might have to keep my moms mixer so I can make it throughout the winter 😀

                That is so awesome! I’m so happy you loved it as much as we do. I can’t imagine a way to make it even better because in my mind it is perfect. It freezes well too so if you want to freeze one loaf to save for later it still tastes just as good. (If you can part with one of the loaves!)

                  I don’t think there is a way to improve it. It’s perfect as is. The center is so moist and the crust on the outside has a slight crunch and the flavor, oh the flavor is just amazing. It was cute I gave my mom a piece and as soon as she took the first bight her eyes got big and she said “mmmm oh mmmm is that nutmeg I taste” lol
                  So yeah I don’t think you can improve on perfection!

      The chocolate ones did and I think they scared others off too because there were a lot more of them left over and all the carrot cake ones were gone. The one I had was awesome though.
