10 Creative Cake Pops You Shouldn’t Miss

Cake pops are all the rage these days! If you’ve missed the memo, cake pops are simple, sweet and have endless decorating possibilities. When you combine crumbled cake, sweet frosting, squish it in a ball, place it on a stick and dip it in creamy candy, you have a recipe for sweet success. The fun really starts when the decorating begins. Cake pops can be simply decorated with a drizzle of candy melt or made amazingly complex in various shapes.

In an effort to bring out the creative cake pop decorators of the world, Wilton hosted a Pops in Post Cake Pop Contest. Recently, 10 finalists were chosen among the entries and are now fighting for the top spot. The entries are AMAZING and worth checking out.

My personal favorite happens to be the Flock of Woolly Pops entry from Busy-at-Home blog. Glenda used mini marshmallows to give these darling sheep a fluffy wool cover and made not only a flock of sheep but a beautiful country display with trees, flowers and even a little white picket fence.

Be sure to check out the cake pops voting page to see all 10 finalists and their amazing cake pop creations! Vote for your favorite every day until Wednesday, Jan 19, 2011.
