Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about diet, portion control and weight loss. Those three little things don’t exactly mesh well with desserts. So how can I bring together my favorite sweet eats and weight loss without going overboard in either direction? Cookie cups!
When a cookie is jam packed with chocolate chips, I’ll surely grab a few to munch on. But when a cookie is dissected into little bites, I’m less likely to eat more than one. Instead, I savor the individual flavors of a single cookie cup throughout the day. An M&M here, a bite there … it’s a slow process that helps me limit my sugar intake.
To make these fun little snacks, all you need is your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe (or store bought cookie dough) and a package of m&m’s. If you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with a little get together, sending treats for kids at school, whatever the reason, the Valentine’s Day colored m&m’s really make these extra cute.
Form a ball of cookie dough in your hand, a little bigger than a ping pong ball and flatten it like a pancake. Press the dough into a standard sized, greased cupcake pan and mold the dough to the inside of the cup leaving a depression in the center.
Bake at 365 degrees F for about 15 minutes, until the center of the cookie is set.
Allow the cookie cups to cool on a wire rack before dropping a handful of candies in the center or you’ll have a melted mess on your hands. You can serve them as is or jazz them up with little holiday themed treat bags to gift.
These are so creative! They would be perfect for decorating each place setting at a party or to use as a party favor.

Oh I LOVE this idea!! Thanks so much:) I am going to have to try to make these for my nieces for Valentines Day!!
Do you think you could save a step and not roll the dough out but just drop the walnut size ball into the cupcake cup and press into place using your fingers or thumb. I know I do this when I make pecan tarts? Love you site very cute. http://myrosiecheeks.net

You have a great website here, I just thought I would point out that after going through just a bit of your writing, there are several spelling/grammer mistakes. Sorry, just wanted to let you know.
