Gourmet Cupcakes from Heavenly Delight Cakes

This past weekend while visiting our local mall with my family we ran into something oh so very delightful. As we’re walking to the food court for lunch my son blurts out “hey mom, there’s cupcakes”. My goodness, yes there were cupcakes! Shelves of them on a kiosk, fluffy, buttercream topped cupcakes! While I have heard of gourmet cupcake shops popping up across the country, we have yet to experience one in central Illinois. Now that I have, I want more!

In fact, I would love to see and hear about the gourmet cupcakes in YOUR town. If you have a local bakery that produces the most scrumptious cupcakes you’ve ever tried, feel free to send me some pictures and share your experience. I’d love to feature them!

My local Au Bon Pain is selling these cupcakes for $3 each! They are really good though. Especially the red velvet which has cream cheese frosting.

Those look yummy! We have a little local shop in our little downtown. 🙂 It’s called Frosted Pink. She has regular flavors each day and then has speciality flavors for each day of the week. Last summer she had some summer specialties like margarita. Most of them I have liked a lot, especially the plain ‘ole vanilla She also makes specialty cakes.

As a personal friend of Connie Adams, owner of Heavenly Delight Cake, I must tell you these cupcakes are amazing. The work that goes into the making of the perfect cupcake is unbelieveable. Her dedication over the years has finally got her to her goal “the perfect cupcake” . If you get the chance to try a Heavenly Delight Cupcake…………don”t pass it up. Each one of them is truely a Heavenly Delight. My favorite………..Lemon and Chocolate Ccovered Cherry, oh and orange dreamcicle, Turtle, Snicker, and of course reeces peanut butter. In the summer I go with Margarita. Shall I go on?
My hat is off to you Connie Adams.
