These days with a newborn limiting my time in the kitchen, I’m extra thankful for quick and easy recipes like this Crockpot Cherry Crisp.  This crisp is perfect for hot days when you don’t want to start up your oven or when you are short on time. Just tossing a few ingredients together quickly produces a fabulous dessert for your family! Serve it with ice cream and enjoy the wonderful flavor combination.

Ingredients

serves 4-6

1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup self-rising flour (or add 3/4 t. baking powder & 1/4 t. salt to all-purpose flour)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup butter, softened

Directions

Butter bottom and sides of 3 1/2 quart crockpot.

Pour cherry pie filling into bottom.

Stir together brown sugar, oats, flour and vanilla. Cut in butter until crumbly and sprinkle over pie filling.

Cook on low for 5 hours.

Serve warm with ice cream.

Yes, it is that easy.

5 hours seems a very long time. Can you shorten the time to say 2-3 hours on low?
