This cream cheese frosting is the perfect topping for your cupcakes or cake! Add some Cool Whip for an extra creamy cream cheese frosting or leave it out for a thicker version! Either way, this homemade frosting recipe is easy and delicious!
1brick (8 oz)cream cheese softened/room temperature
1tablespoonclear vanilla extract
2tablespoonsmilkcan also use heavy whipping cream for great texture
3 1/2cupspowdered sugarsifted
1cupCOOL WHIP whipped toppingthawed (optional)
Instructions
Cream the butter, cream cheese, vanilla and milk until light and fluffy. (This will take a couple of minutes.)
Add in the sifted confectioners sugar. Beat until right consistency. (You may need to add more sifted confectioner's sugar or milk if you aren't getting the desired results.)
Gently stir in Cool Whip frozen topping just until blended. Refrigerate leftovers.
