Chocolate Chip Tea Cookies

Chocolate Chip Tea Cookies are moist, dense and not super sweet. Makes a great addition to your tea party or holiday baking! If you like Russian tea cookies, you'll love this cookie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and powdered sugar at high speed until fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Gradually beat in flour.
  4. Stir in one cup of mini chocolate chips.
  5. Form into one inch balls. Place two inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. (Line with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for best results.)
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Place on wire rack to cool.
  7. Add remaining ¼ c. mini-chocolate chips to a ziploc bag and microwave just until melted, approximately 30 seconds.

  8. Snip a small corner of the bag. Drizzle chocolate over cooled cookies.

  9. Chill 5 minutes or until chocolate is set.
