Instant Pot Applesauce

This Instant Pot Applesauce Recipe is a the easiest way to make a fresh, creamy homemade apples in less than 30 minutes! Featuring a just a little bit of cinnamon and brown sugar, this simple applesauce is a great fall recipe.

Ingredients

  • 6-8 large apples approximately 3 lbs
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice about one lemon
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Core apples and cut into wedges, leaving the peel on.
  2. Pour the water into the Instant Pot liner.
  3. Place in the Instant Pot and toss to coat with cinnamon, salt, brown sugar and lemon juice.
  4. Secure IP lid and cook on high 7 to 8 minutes. Wait for your instant pot to natural release the remaining steam for 5 to 10 minutes then let the remaining pressure out in small spurts. ( a controlled quick release)

  5. Break down your cooked apples using a potato masher, immersion blender or transfer to a traditional blender until you achieve your desired consistency.
  6. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 10 days.

Recipe Notes

If you like more of a traditional, store bought applesauce taste, you can peel your apples before cooking.
For a thinner applesauce, you can add 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup additional water.
