Yummy Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Cookies from Duncan Hines {Giveaway}

I adore the combination of chocolate and peanut butter and who doesn’t love brownies? (Crazy people, that is who!) So when I saw this recipe on Duncan Hines which uses a brownie mix as the cookie base I was intrigued. The end result is a moist brownie cookie with a peanut butter surprise! This decadent treat tastes amazing with a glass of milk and makes for a special presentation.

Cookie Ingredients

1 box Duncan Hines® Chewy Fudge Premium Brownie Mix or Duncan Hines® Milk Chocolate Premium Brownie Mix
1/4 cup butter
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 egg

Peanut Butter Filling Ingredients

1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup peanut butter

Optional Topping:

1/2 c. chocolate chips
1 teaspoon canola oil

OR

Duncan Hines Creamy Home-Style Milk Chocolate Frosting or Classic Chocolate Frosting

Directions

Beat brownie mix, butter, cream cheese and egg in medium bowl with a mixer.

Drop dough on cookie sheets that are lightly greased or lined with parchment paper, about 2 inches apart. (You should have about 2 1/2 to 3 dozen cookies)

Mix powdered sugar and peanut butter together in small bowl and roll them into small balls using approximately 1 teaspoon for each.

Press peanut butter balls onto the top of uncooked dough and flatten slightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-14 minutes or until edges are set.  Cookies may appear slightly under cooked, but do not overbake. Cool approximately 3 minutes before transferring to wire rack.

Optional

Drizzle chocolate over the tops of cooled cookies with melted chocolate chips and canola oil or with melted frosting by placing 6 tablespoons of frosting into a microwave safe container for approximately 30 seconds to melt. Drizzle over top of cookie.

I used chocolate chips and canola oil and my handy Wilton squeeze bottle which made this a breeze! You could also use a sandwich bag instead. Cool.
