Sweet Cinnamon and Sugar Pretzel Nuggets

I love finding quick, low cost snacks for gift giving and parties. These sweet cinnamon and sugar pretzels fit that description perfectly! The sweet combined with just a bit of salty make for a scrumptious snack that is very difficult to stop eating! I made these while at my parent’s house for Thanksgiving and they were a bit hit.

Sweet Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Nuggets

Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) package sourdough pretzel nuggets
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

Place pretzels in a microwave-safe bowl. Combine combine oil, sugar and cinnamon in small bowl and pour over pretzels.

Toss to coat, making sure all pretzels are well coated. Microwave on high and uncovered for 2 minutes.  Microwave 3-4 minutes longer. Stir after each minute until oil is absorbed. I laid my out on parchment paper to cool.  Cool to room temperature before eating.

These pretzels taste the best about a half hour after making them. They are still just a bit warm but without`being too hot. They are really heavenly at this stage.

Perfect for gift giving, these pretzels would make a fabulous addition to a goodie basket or to give as gifts by themselves.

Just place in a fun decorative bag like this Woodland Friends Snowman Party Bag from Wilton and you have an easy and delicious gift!

This recipe was slightly altered from Taste of Home. Sweet Pretzel Nuggets published in Quick Cooking December 2000, p43

I received the treat bags featured in this post from Wilton. My thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
