Simple and Fun I Love You Kid Snack

I know it may seem like I feed my kids a bunch of sweets (I do love to bake after all), but I really try to make healthier choices for my boys. For example, when I do bake, my kids typically end up with it as a dessert for just one night.   And I try to do a combination of healthy snacks mixed in with some special treats here and there. One common dessert in our house is yogurt or fruit.  I have never had my children down yogurt or fruit.

Ever.

We often bought Simply Go-Gurt for an easy, mess free snack. I’ve purchased that variety to avoid the high fructose corn syrup and artificial colors. And while my boys might not have understood exactly why I wouldn’t buy them the character versions, they seems content with the fun packaging which include things like funny jokes or word plays on the side. But General Mills recently informed me that now all of their Yoplait Go-Gurt varieties are free of high fructose corn syrup and use natural flavors and colors.  Yeah!

They challenged me to come up with a fun snack for my kids.

Yoplait Gogurt Snack Idea for After SchoolIt seems like such a small thing, but my kids really couldn’t believe it when they spotted the Yoplait Go-GURT Phineas & Ferb Perry Berry in the fridge. They were very excited and the box went rather quick.

For a fun and easy snack option, I created this “I Love You” plate. It is filled with snacks my boys love but presented in a way to spell out those special words.

Yoplait GoGurt I Love You SnackYou could really try this idea out with many different products. And if you don’t happen to have a heart shaped silicon baking cup like I did around the house, you could easily recreate the heart shape with your food. Other ideas include adding peanut butter to the cup offering some apple slices, celery or graham cracker sticks in a “u” shape with the Go-Gurt.  You could try the same approach with ranch dressing and carrots. The possibilities are endless but all are a lot of fun! Get creative with messages or if your kids can’t read yet, try fun different shapes.  Make a house, a truck, a flower, etc. The only limits are your imagination.

Visit Yoplait to find all the Go-Gurt varieties available.

Do you have any other fun snack ideas?
