It is most definitely Autumn with the apples popping up on the trees, leaves changing to beautiful golden colors and my kitchen smelling like Autumn all rolled up into a cookie. Last week I had this craving for an oatmeal cookie. But I wanted something special, something that was warm, sweet and chewy. That’s when I decided to incorporate some fresh Jonathan apples. I’m telling you, these will just melt in your mouth and warm your tummy!

Ingredients

  • 1 – 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1-1/2 oz box of raisins
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

I was so excited to try these cookies but they were nothing like i expected. They were dry and bland. The oatmeal is way too much for the recipe and and sugar is not enough to really sweeten and the texture of the apple is just mushy like in pie :/ waste of time ๐Ÿ™
