Simple Yet Elegant Jello Salad Mold from Kraft Foods

I love easy recipes that while inexpensive and a snap to prepare, they look elegant and taste great. That is exactly what you will get with this gelatin salad from Kraft Foods which is extremely flavorful, creamy and makes a nice display. The best part? It uses the leftover tub from the whipped topping used in this recipe! No worrying about the right size mold. No struggling getting it out of the mold in one piece. And best of all? It is very portable, making it a great addition to any gathering!
Think orange for Halloween, red and orange for Thanksgiving, red and green (or yellow/gold) for Christmas or red and blue for the 4th of July. The possibilities are endless for any occasion.
1 pkg (8 serving size) jello gelatin in your choice of flavor
16 oz tub Cool Whip topping, thawed
3 cups boiling water
Stir jello and boiling water in medium bowl 2 minutes or until gelatin is completely dissolved. Add Cool Whip to hot gelatin mixture and stir with wire whisk until completely melted and well blended. (Mixture will still be thin). Wash and dry Cool Whip tub, then spray with cooking spray. Pour gelatin mixture into Cool Whip tub and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
To serve, place serving dish over top of tub, flip over and gently work tub to remove molded gelatin. If you have issues getting it out of the tub, dip bottom in warm water for 15 seconds. (It came out very easy for me without using water. )
This recipe was found in the Kraft Food & Family magazine, Holiday 2006.
